Changing the way electronics are designed and built
TactoTek® is the leader in Injection Molded Structural Electronics (IMSE™) technology. IMSE solutions integrate and encapsulate printed electronics and standard electronic components within durable 3D injection-molded plastics. We adapt customer concepts into IMSE solutions and develop production-ready prototypes which can be mass produced by TactoTek or a TactoTek Licensee.
TactoTek is based in Oulu, Finland. Founded in 2011, the company is funded by Conor Venture Partners, Ascend Capital Partners, Faurecia Ventures, Plastic Omnium, Nanogate, VTT Ventures, Leaguer VC and European Union’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Programme.
TactoTek is ISO 9001 certified.
Adapting your designs into IMSE solutions
TactoTek has in-house Product Creation teams dedicated to working in partnership with our customers to realize their visions with IMSE solutions. Each TactoTek team includes experts from the disciplines needed to create a successful solution. TactoTek has experts in mechanical design, electrical design, optics/illumination, antenna design, tooling, and more.
Leading the IMSE ecosystem
TactoTek collaborates with IMSE materials vendors, electronic component manufacturers and others to validate their products for IMSE. We share our experience, ideas and objectives to advance the entire stack of materials that comprise an IMSE solution.
Building on proven foundations
Through extensive internal R&D and dozens of diverse projects TactoTek has developed IMSE-specific design rules. Material combinations for features and geometries, electronic component performance, processing requirements and more are captured in TactoTek’s proprietary knowledge base. We draw on this experience for every project that we do. Soon you, too, will be able to create your own IMSE solutions based on TactoTek’s knowledge using IMSE Designer – an add-on module for computer aided design (CAD).
