TactoTek’s Executive Team is comprised of experienced professionals with recognized track records in technology innovation and commercialization, transforming markets, and building vibrant, successful companies.
Jussi Harvela brings over 25 years of global high technology business leadership experience to his role at TactoTek. He led Finnish origin and US-based Solid Information Technology from early stage technology development and positioned it for acquisition by IBM; in addition, he has contributed to many successful companies as a CEO, investor, board chairman/member, and advisor. Jussi earned his master’s degree in software engineering, international marketing, and business strategy from the Helsinki University of Technology. He also has BA in music. Jussi is a keen sailor, and enjoys hunting, fishing and cooking. He has a passion for developing the Finnish high tech economy and influences promotional, educational and technology transfer programs, such as Slush, StartUp Sauna, TEKES TULI and VTT Ventures Advisory, and participates in bridging those programs across global markets.
Dr. Antti Keränen is the technology mastermind behind TactoTek structural electronics. His main responsibilities are developing and maintaining the IP portfolio, directing R&D innovation activities, and communicating the company technology vision and practical applications to the community. Antti has been a major contributor to the technology of in-mold electronics since 2005, when he joined the VTT printed electronics team. He is an Adjunct Professor of theoretical physics at the University of Oulu where he earned his PhD in 2002. Subsequently, he worked as a nuclear scientist at INFN, Italy, and as a Software Specialist for e.g. Nokia. Outside of the office you might find him playing guitar in his band, reading eclectic books, and beyond all, spending quality time with his wife and daughter.
Katriina Otsamo manages TactoTek’s financial operations, human resources, contracts, and oversees corporate compliance. Katriina brings more than 15 years of relevant experience to her role including start-up finance, human resources management and business development. She is an inventor and co-founder of Checkmylevel, a consumer electronics solution for monitoring athlete neuromuscular recovery. Katriina holds a Master’s degree in Economics and Finance. Away from the office, she is an accomplished horsewoman, a keen volunteer supporting amateur horse sports and is chairperson of a local riding club.
Sami Hyyryläinen leads global sales activities for TactoTek. In managerial and executive positions he has contributed to the success of several high tech companies. Sami’s experience includes IC Project Manager at Nokia, SVP Sales at Hantro, EVP Sales at Senseg and SVP Sales at On2 Technologies Inc. (NYSE/AMEX: ONT). In his postings in Finland, Japan and Taiwan, Sami has shown his ability to work effectively across diverse cultures and markets and develop his facility with languages: Sami is fluent speaker of Finnish, English and Japanese. Sami holds a M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Oulu. He enjoys time with his wife and daughters, travels, reads, cooks, and enjoys water sports, SCUBA diving and fishing.
Dave Rice leads TactoTek marketing, product management and business development in the Americas. He has extensive experience identifying and developing high value, addressable market opportunities for innovative electronics and software solutions. Dave has held senior executive roles, and led Marketing, Business Development, and Product Management for early-stage startups and public companies including Senseg, AdPay (co-founder), Orolia/McMurdo Group and Rogue Wave Software. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Stanford University, and an MBA from the University of Oregon. Dave enjoys time in the outdoors, including exploring the wild landscapes of his home in the Pacific Northwest, Finland and where his travels take him.
Marko Suo-Anttila is responsible for TactoTek engineering, including production and new technology development support. Prior to TactoTek he held management roles in Asia at Lite-ON, EB and Flextronics covering production operations, new technology introduction, quality management and program management. Marko recently returned to Finland after working in Asia for five years. Marko holds a BSc, Engineering, Production Automation. A happily married father of three children, he enjoys quality time with his family, fishes, exercises, reads business books and makes investments.
Perttu Korhonen has over 15 years of experience in product development and operations. In roles spanning product development, sales and business management, with companies including Microcell, Flextronics and Elektrobit, Perttu contributed to delivering over 25 consumer devices generating 8 billion euros revenue from customers such as AT&T, Sony, TerreStar, Nokia, Motorola, Alcatel, Phillips and Siemens. He has enjoyed the diversity of working in Finland, Asia, and the US. Perttu earned his M.Sc. in Industrial Economics & Management from the University of Oulu. Outside of work he enjoys a variety of sports, including orienteering and opportunities to learn new with inspiring people.
Paavo Niskala leads TactoTek’s research and development functions. He is one of the first TactoTek’s employees, and since 2012 he has played an important role in our core manufacturing team as we commercialized IMSE technology. Before joining TactoTek, Paavo gained extensive experience in global manufacturing in sourcing and supply chain quality positions at Nokia. He holds a M.Sc. degree in Manufacturing Engineering of Electronics from the University of Oulu. Paavo is a former national level martial artist who now fulfills his sweat addictions by cycling and weight training. He also enjoys reading military and autobiography books, and spends most of his free time with his wife and children.

TactoTek’s Board of Directors augments company leadership with extensive international experience building growth companies, venture capital, automotive and electronics markets, as well as international technology transfer and investment and corporate governance.
Jari Pasanen is a seasoned technology and strategy executive with strong experience in venture financing and accelerating innovative growth companies, as an operator and as an advisor, including his activities at Butterfly Ventures and Nestholma Venture Accelerator. He is an internationally experienced executive in mobile phone and multimedia businesses, especially with Nokia where he held multiple executive roles spanning R&D, technology management, quality, strategy, business development and innovation. Mr. Pasanen also served SITRA, the Finnish Innovation Fund, as an executive responsible for business development and investment activities, and SEK & Grey, a leading marketing agency in Finland, as Chief Strategy Officer. He is a board member, advisor and angel investor for several innovative startups. Mr. Pasanen holds a Licentiate in Technology degree from Tampere University of Technology.
Mr. Jari Mieskonen has years of experience in venture capital funds. He joined Conor Venture Partners as a Managing Partner in 2007. Prior to Conor, he worked for 10 years as partner at Eqvitec Partners and 3 years as investment director at Sitra. He has been involved with over 100 venture deals in the Nordic region, Europe and the US. He currently serves as board member of FVCA and Nordic Venture Network as well as in EVCA Venture Council and a few technology companies like TactoTek. Mr. Mieskonen received his master’s degree in Engineering/Industrial Economics from Helsinki University of Technology.
Mr. Jyrki Still is an entrepreneurial-minded management, technology and operational leader with an international career in semiconductor and electronics industries. He is experienced in building and leading global technical, operational, management and supply chain teams to create world-class, market-leading organizations. Mr. Still’s focus is on collaborating with customers in developing novel technologies, products, and services and bringing those technologies to market for unprecedented levels of revenue and value. Jyrki Still is currently Chief Technical Officer at Detection Technology, member of the Board of Directors at TactoTek, and active member of several associations. Mr. Still earned his Master’s degree in Operations Management from Michigan Technological University, MI, USA.
Inka Mero is an entrepreneur, company builder, angel investor and new business executive. Her passion and expertise is in the new global digital business build – from startups to big corporations. She is an investor in 22 ventures and cofounder of 7 technology growth companies. Inka’s board work at Fiskars, Nokian Tyres and YIT enables her to bring her strategic and international expertise in digitalization, driving entrepreneurship, agility and fast execution to large corporations.
Mr. de la Gironiere has years of experience in Executive roles at Faurecia with a broad experience in all aspects of management, mainly in industrial environments (Automotive & Electronics), with a real international dimension. He is now responsible for building a Corporate Venture Fund for Faurecia Group. He has degrees from the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business, PSB Paris School of Business, as well as Universtité de Nantes (Economics). Mr. de la Gironiere has specific expertise in change management, international management, industrial controlling, project controlling, strategic advice, mergers and acquisition.
Jörg Buchholz has been working for almost 25 years in the global automotive industry in various managing positions. He has been doing business in China for more than 17 years; he lived in Beijing with his family from 2004 to 2009. He has been a Partner of Ascend Capital Partners since 2011, advising in several M&A projects and co-investing in the acquisition of IEE where he served as a Director on the Board of Directors from 2015-2016.
His professional career started with BMW Munich, Germany, and later Ford in Detroit, USA. After returning to Germany, he was part of the early business development team of LEAR Seating in Europe. He joined Magna Europe International in Austria in a managing corporate position for the Magna Europe R&D strategy. From 2000 to 2004 he was in charge of Magna’s China business development department and reported directly to the Co-CEO of Magna International.
In 2004, he co-founded SINOC Automotive in China where he was acting as CEO. With a solid background of the international automotive business, he founded his own company OFFHAM based in Beijing in 2006 where he is still the sole owner. OFFHAM provides advisory services focused on business development, investment, M&A, sales and marketing, sourcing, and supplier management to its customers, mainly international/Chinese automotive OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers from Europe/North America and China.
Mr. Bucholz graduated 1994 from the University of Applied Sciences in Munich, Germany and holds a diploma degree as Mechanical Engineer.

They have vast experience in international business, finance, technology and make valued contributions to TactoTek.
Mr. Lon Tan is an HTC Co-Founder, and contributed to the company’s growth for 15 years. During his tenure at HTC, Mr. Tan led the HTC Magic Labs and Mechanical Design Divisions. Mr. Tan’s expertise includes product innovation, user experience, mechanical design, manufacturing processes and supply chain management. In 2011, Mr. Tan founded Jiyonson Corporation, his current venture. Mr. Tan received his master’s degree in Business Administration and Management at National Chiao Tung University and a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering at National Taiwan University of Science and Technology.
Mr. Kari-Pekka Wilska is one of the cellular industry’s pioneers and was instrumental in Nokia becoming the world’s largest wireless supplier. Mr. Wilska served in numerous executive positions during his over 30 years in the company. After retiring from Nokia in 2005, Mr. Wilska joined Austin Ventures as a venture partner and Blue Run Ventures in 2009 as a venture partner. He has served on the Board of Directors in several public and closely held companies, including WiSpry (AAC), Mavenir Systems Inc (MITL), and Spectra Site Inc (AMT). He has also served as an advisor to AT&T’s Technology Advisory Council, Analogix Technologies Inc., Elektrobit Ltd., and others. Mr. Wilska is a National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) Governance Fellow. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Radio and Television Technology from the Helsinki Institute of Technology. During his career, Mr. Wilska has received various valued awards.
Mr. Shinichi Okamoto brings over 30 years of experience to TactoTek’s advisory board. He is former CTO of Sony Computer Entertainment, the PlayStation subsidiary of Sony corp., where he managed countless large-scale projects, including launching of alliance programs and the development of PlayStation 2. His consulting firm has helped several technology start-ups build strategies leading to successful IPOs, mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Okamoto has served as Director of the Board and Advisor at Logitech, Toyota and dozens of other companies in the fields of software, wireless technologies, automotive, game and movie industries. Mr. Okamoto holds a master’s degree in Engineering/Chemistry from Waseda University, Tokyo.
Rik Thorbecke brings more than 25 years of international finance experience. Thorbecke has served as Chief Financial Officer, Chief Strategy Officer and in other senior leadership roles at a range of Silicon Valley companies including Meltwater Group, Plastic Logic, Electronic Arts, Levi Strauss & Co. and Equinix. Additionally, he was a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers for more than 17 years and currently serves as CFO for Mirantis. Originally from the Netherlands, Thorbecke earned undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Amsterdam, and is a California Certified Public Accountant and a Registered Accountant in the Netherlands.
Mr. Leslie Chard is a computer programmer turned to startup attorney and advisor. Mr. Chard specializes in building intellectual property and data-driven startup businesses. He is also an expert in the creation of industry standards, and has helped bring to market a number of leading technology standards. Previously, Mr. Chard was President, HDMI Licensing, LLC, and helped found the High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) standard, one of the most successful technology standards in history. Les has held a variety of business development and legal roles for a number of early stage technology companies. Prior to that, Mr. Chard was an attorney with Fenwick & West. Mr. Chard received a bachelor’s degree in mathematics/computer science from Wesleyan University (CT) and a J.D. from the University of Cincinnati.
