15 November 2024 – Oulu, Finland – TactoTek today announced that the company has been honored with two CES 2025 Innovation Awards for its in-mold structural electronics (IMSE®) technology in the Vehicle Tech and Advanced Mobility category:
TactoTek’s first 2025 CES Innovation Award is for TactoTek’s IMSE, a transformational technology platform for designing and building electronics. IMSE integrates electronics, mechanics, and cosmetics to deliver lighting, touch controls, antennas, and circuitry in a smart surface: a thin, seamless, single conformal part. With the design freedom to create aesthetically pleasing electronics, IMSE technology is used to differentiate products and decarbonize electronics manufacturing. IMSE technology has passed demanding automotive market performance requirements and been approved by many OEMs.
TactoTek is the pioneer of IMSE technology and dominates the intellectual property landscape with more than 280 granted patents. TactoTek licenses IMSE technology to a global ecosystem of partners who design and manufacture IMSE parts.
TactoTek’s second 2025 CES Innovation Award is for an Intelligent Illuminated Door Panel for vehicles produced using IMSE technology. This design styles ambient lighting to driver preferences, and even integrates with vehicle sensors to enhance situational awareness. The Intelligent Illuminated Door Panel achieves highly uniform RGB lighting with dynamic effects in a slim, conformal part. IMSE technology supports high illumination efficiency with few LEDs integrated inside of the structure.
“We are very excited to be honored with two CES Innovation Awards recognizing TactoTek’s achievements with IMSE technology,” noted Jussi Harvela, TactoTek CEO. “TactoTek continuously advances IMSE technology to help our customers build better products while also meeting their environmental goals. Our licensees, who design and manufacture IMSE parts, are scaling to bring IMSE solutions to market, globally in markets ranging from automotive and smart home, to industrial and defense.”
